Mom to Be
What I believe is a northern snapping turtle lays eggs at the edge of the dirt parking lot of a local takeout restaurant that just opened. Shot color, converted to black and white since the photo was already pretty monochromatic. The turtle, rocks and dirt were all the same color brown. Ironically, although she's a mom to be, she will never see her young. The mother turtle leaves the nest after laying her eggs, never to return.
